Enrolment

Western Australia offers a 4yo kindergarten program to all children.
Submit an expression of interest for 2025 enrolment (your child must turn 4 by June 30 2025). Out of catchment enquiries are also welcome.

Enrolment is completed as a two-part process:

  • Step one: Submit a 2025 application form to your preferred kindergarten before the closing date.
  • Step two: If a place is available it will be offered to you and an enrolment form must be completed.

The Process

  • Request an application form.
  • Only one application can be submitted for your child to attend kindergarten at any public school, kindergarten or community kindergarten.
  • Application forms may be submitted via post or email. When emailing your application remember to check for a confirmation.
  • Once applications close class numbers are assessed, and places are offered.
  • On selection you will be asked to complete an Enrolment Form. Additional documents (including immunisation records; court orders and/or visa papers if applicable), are required at this stage.

Eligibility

  • To be eligible for kindergarten in 2025 children must turn 4 by June 30, 2025. (Use this School Age Calculator to check). Proof of age will be requested on application.
  • It is an Education Department requirement that all children enrolling in Kindergarten are fully immunised or on an immunisation catch up schedule.
  • 20 places are offered per class each year, with one or two streams operating based on the number of applications. We can not yet confirm how many streams will run in 2025.
  • If we receive more applications than available places, Department of Education selection criteria will be applied. (Date of application is not considered).
  • See our FAQs page for more information on voluntary fees and contributions.
